Diamonds and Gold International was formed by David Dumas in the middle of the summer of 1986. David started Diamonds and Gold with the intention of creating a jewelry store that has a reputation of fine quality, a knowledgeable staff willing to help everyone and, of course, low prices.

As Diamonds and Gold has grown the store has moved twice to better serve our customers. Originally the store was behind Nicklow's Restaurant on Hwy. 100 and 36th Ave. North, in a small three room office. From there we moved to 4130 West Broadway. This was about the same size but much more visible to the public. We hired our first employee at our second location. Dave stayed at this location for about two years. We then moved to our present location at 4086 Lakeland Ave. N. in Robin Center, Robbinsdale, Minnesota, in September of 1990. We have now moved to our new location in St. Louis Park, at 5305 Excelsior Blvd. to make us more accessible to the entire Metro area.

Diamonds and Gold is a unique jewelry store because we are willing to take on projects that other jewelry stores would not consider important enough to try.

Be sure to download one of our favorite recipies. You will be sure to enjoy it as much as we do.

Dave's creative flair is seen in our custom design work. Not only do we create many beautiful designs, but the designs have endured the test of time with many customers still enjoying rings that we designed when we first started. Some of the following are Dave's accomplishments, including a bid on the 1991 championship ring for the Minnesota Twins baseball team in which Diamonds and Gold International was a finalist.

In 1995 Dave started work on a new product, the "Forever Image." The "Forever Image" is a 14kt yellow gold pendant that is a raised gold image, similar to the image of a coin. Diamonds and Gold takes your photograph of your child, adult, or pet and makes the likeness into a 14kt gold pendant. The pendants are each sculpted by hand. The overwhelming response from the recipients who have our pendants has been rewarding.

In 1995 Dave was asked to design a pendant for the International Iris Society. The pendant is available in two sizes and can also be made into pins. We were very excited when we started getting orders from around the world. It was an interesting experience for us to start shipping orders to other countries.

Another item we designed is a pendant of a police badge in 14kt gold for a Robbinsdale Police Officer. We have since created pendants for other police departments. Some of the creative knowledge for this project comes from the work we did bidding on the Twins World Series Ring.

In 1996 with this added knowledge we started making business logo rings and pendants. One of the rings that we produce is a sales incentive ring for Panelcraft, a local home improvement company. The ring is designed as an incentive for the sales person. Upon completion of each additional sales goal a diamond is added to the ring.

In the interim we have designed many rings for engagements and special occasions.

In 1999 we came up with a new design, a pendant for the Hosta Society. This has already been positively received.

As for the 2000 season, Dave has been working with Mick Sterling and his Heart & Soul concert. We designed two special pendants for the concert. Profits from the sale of this pendant will be donated to Camp Heartland. Camp Heartland is the world's only year-round facility for kids and families living with HIV/AIDS. This is a special project because it helps children. One of our other projects that Dave promotes is the collection of toys for the Battered Women's Shelter "Home Free". Dave purchases toys and asks our customers to bring in toys for the Christmas season. The toys are gathered and delivered for Christmas Eve. This will be our 11th year collecting toys and helping the children.
